Over the weekend, I read an article about a local artist that creates wonderful Cob structures to live and play in and fell in love with the look of them. What a great alternative to the conventionally built house!<\/p>\n

I did a search on the web for information about Cob Houses and found this video.<\/p>\n

An Old Woman Of The Road<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

O\u2019 TO have a little house!
\nTo own the hearth and stool and all!
\nThe heap\u2019d-up sods upon the fire,
\nThe pile of turf against the wall!<\/p>\n

To have a clock with weights and chains
\nAnd pendulum swinging up and down!
\nA dresser filled with shining delph,
\nSpeckled with white and blue and brown!<\/p>\n

I could be busy all the day
\nClearing and sweeping hearth and floor;
\nAnd fixing on their shelf again
\nMy white and blue and speckled store!<\/p>\n

I could be quiet there at night
\nBeside the fire and by myself,
\nSure of a bed loth to leave
\nThe ticking clock and the shining delph!<\/p>\n

Och! but I\u2019m weary of mist and dark,
\nAnd roads where there\u2019s never a house or bush,
\nAnd tired I am of bog and road
\nAnd the crying wind and the lonesome hush!<\/p>\n

And I am praying to God on high,
\nAnd I am praying Him night and day,
\nFor a little house – a house of my own –
\nOut of the wind\u2019s and the rain\u2019s way.<\/p>\n
