The Wheel of life turns . . . Beautiful!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2932\" title=\"Autumnl Leaf\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gaiasgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/autumnleaf.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"305\" height=\"329\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gaiasgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/autumnleaf.jpg 305w, https:\/\/www.gaiasgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/autumnleaf-278x300.jpg 278w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 305px) 100vw, 305px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Aunt Leaf<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Needing one, I invented her &#8211;<br \/>\nthe great-great-aunt dark as hickory<br \/>\ncalled Shining-Leaf, or Drifting-Cloud<br \/>\nor The-Beauty-of-the-Night.<\/p>\n<p>Dear aunt, I&#8217;d call into the leaves,<br \/>\nand she&#8217;d rise up, like an old log in a pool,<br \/>\nand whisper in a language only the two of us knew<br \/>\nthe word that meant follow,<\/p>\n<p>and we&#8217;d travel<br \/>\ncheerful as birds<br \/>\nout of the dusty town and into the trees<br \/>\nwhere she would change us both into something quicker &#8211;<br \/>\ntwo foxes with black feet,<br \/>\ntwo snakes green as ribbons,<br \/>\ntwo shimmering fish &#8211; and all day we&#8217;d travel.<\/p>\n<p>At day&#8217;s end she&#8217;d leave me back at my own door<br \/>\nwith the rest of my family,<br \/>\nwho were kind, but solid as wood<br \/>\nand rarely wandered. While she,<br \/>\nold twist of feathers and birch bark,<br \/>\nwould walk in circles wide as rain and then<br \/>\nfloat back scattering the rags of twilight<br \/>\non fluttering moth wings;<\/p>\n<p>or she&#8217;d slouch from the barn like a gray opossum;<br \/>\nor she&#8217;d hang in the milky moonlight<br \/>\nburning like a medallion,<\/p>\n<p>this bone dream, this friend I had to have,<br \/>\nthis old woman made out of leaves.\u00a0 &#8211; Mary Oliver<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Everyday Goddessing\u00a0 is about sharing magical techniques and sacred wisdom with other beautiful Goddess women.
