I laid there\u00a0 beneath soft, warm flannel sheets willing myself to go back to sleep. Needless to say it didn&#8217;t work.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3797\" title=\"Buddha Heart\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gaiasgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/buddhaheart1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"316\" height=\"421\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gaiasgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/buddhaheart1.jpg 316w, https:\/\/www.gaiasgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/buddhaheart1-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 316px) 100vw, 316px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>With great effort I managed to crawl out of bed and make my way to the kitchen to make a cup of tea. By the time I finished I could see traces of light slowly seeping over the hills. I stood quietly watching the play of light and shadow dancing across the roof tops ~ bare tree branches ~ light spilling over my fingers ~ mesmerized.<\/p>\n<p>Suddenly bird song filled the air and the deep rich scent of mother earth wafted up. In that one moment, I was finely attuned to every scent, movement, color and shape around me. Listening ~ listening\u00a0 to the sacred language of mother nature.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3796\" title=\"Our Prayer Lily\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gaiasgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/prayerlilybloom.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"336\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.gaiasgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/prayerlilybloom.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.gaiasgarden.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/prayerlilybloom-178x300.jpg 178w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Later, when returning to the kitchen for another cup of tea, I noticed  that our prayer lily had bloomed. Such grace, the long slender stalk  reaching towards the ceiling ever seeking the light. What a wonderful  gift on this day of celebration ~ Happy Imbolc Everyone!\u00a0 So grateful  that winter will soon give way to spring.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">&#8220;And that is just the point&#8230; how the world, moist and beautiful, calls to each of us to make a new and serious response. That&#8217;s the big question, the one the world throws at you every morning. &#8220;Here you are, alive.
